Day 7

This is our last full day in Norway so it was set aside to do any last souvenir shopping and take it easy before tomorrow’s travelling

We met up at 9am for breakfast and I spent ages trying to fill a cup of hot water for my tea as it was running out.

When they replaced the water I dashed up to top my cup up but an old lady tried to muscle in

I pointed behind her and as she turned, kicked her to the back of the knee and she fell like a sack of spuds - no one gets in the way of my morning tea and if breakfast was to become a contact sport, so be it…

By 10:30 we were hitting the streets

Hattie wanted a football shirt so picked up one from a nearby store but couldn’t find anyone to take the purchase

This went on for 10 minutes - there was no one in the entire store!!!

If this had happened in the UK the store would have been emptied….

From there we meandered around Oslo city centre with Kieren buying more souvenirs than anyone

It was lunchtime by now and Kieren and I had eaten a cheese, ham and egg roll but the girls were still full from breakfast so we went to “Proud Mary”

If I hadn’t had a drink soon I’d have been ….

Lovely pub, with nice beer

Tracey will understand these next 2 gags

Joss didn’t want me to go here

And she definitely didn’t want to be here on a Thursday …..

Still we left there unscathed and went to buy some water for the room

Hattie and Kieren went back to their room while Joss and I went to Andy’s bar - an unapologetically Liverpool supporting bar - Gareth would have loved it

Just before leaving I’d finished my beer but Joss had a lot to go so I bought myself another and a “half for the lady”

Joss’ looked like she was drinking from the holy grail so we both drank out of it so we could lose some years

It didn’t work on my side but Joss did leave with a spring in her step…

We met the kids up at 7 and went back to the sports’ bar. Actually, every bar is a sports’ bar so better to say the Scotsman

When we got there they were doing a quiz but it was almost completely empty

That was either because Norwegians don’t like quizzes, or the fact the quiz was in English - we got loads right - I think they had to dumb it down because of the translation issues

Unfortunately for us, when the quiz finished they put the chubby chuckers on the tv

We all had bangers and mash, we all ate it, but only I was still hungry

All this beer and food means that ordinary portions no longer even touch the sides

The others went back to the hotel while I sneaked off to get some chips

I’d seen where there was a McDonald’s but as I got there I also saw a Burger King, so went there instead for some fries

I figured, as no one knew, what could be the harm?

I then got involved in this exchange

Blast that find friends app…..

Once rumbled I headed back to the hotel with my tail between my legs - I daren’t try for a beer after being found out so easily

Off to Sweden tomorrow - thanks Norway it’s been great!!!
