Day 15

We had things to do today so met up at 8:30 for breakfast

Our mission in the morning was to visit Rosenberg Castle and we got there by being double decker train w-&@$%s - top deck too

It wasn’t too far to walk afterwards but we did come across this bricked up door - maybe it was like a Harry Potter door that needed magic to open

The castle was very interesting and if Donald Trump had lived at the time of its pomp, he’d have loved how over the top it was

Joss asked for this picture but despite him saying yes, he did insist that she kept her distance - her reputation runs before her….

Then we did some shopping and sightseeing

It’s a shame because what I really wanted was a German toilet seat

Why does Scandinavia like Liverpool so much?

Then we saw a bar called the Dubliner and thought that there must be 2 (like the mermaids) as we’d had a drink in one yesterday

Turns out it WAS the same one, only we went in from the back before

3 of us decided on the chicken curry for lunch, which came with rice AND fries (an Irish thing apparently)

Baby in a manger - game changer

It was delicious

And Kieren enjoyed his Guinness and steak pie

We did a little more walking about before heading back to the hotel to get ready for the evening out

For the evening, because we ate big at lunchtime, we chose to get sandwiches from the station for dinner

This was both the best and most tragic of decisions

Yes we had enough and it was a cheap meal, but we ate it on a train station bench looking like the hotel had just thrown us out

Whatever - I’m not going to see any of the people who threw money at us thinking we were down and outs again

For the night time entertainment “we” were keen to see Latvia v England

Earlier, I had said that we needed to find a pub that showed sport

That got the cogs in Kieren’s mind whirring and he googled this place just 1 metro stop away

It did exactly what it said on the tin and Kieren was very pleased with himself that he found it

The pub was excellent and even put the England game on where we wanted to sit - kudos to them

We watched England win 0-5 then started to wander back to the hotel

As we approached our “local” Joss and I decided to have one for the road whilst the others went back - a bloody good decision all round

Let’s see if it’s still good tomorrow…..
