Day 14

It’s new breakfast day and we’ve decided that it ranks second amongst its Scandinavian counterparts

More on offer than Stockholm, not as much as the outright winner, Oslo

Our first port of call was to go back to the football stadium of last night for me to buy an FC Copenhagen shirt

We got the metro there

When we arrived it was like there hadn’t been a game the night before - it was all so clean

If that had been an England game they’d have been cleaning that up for weeks

The store was open and the shirt was duly bought

Then it was off to Frederick’s church because Joss really does love a church

It was very impressive

When we left we saw crowds in the distance we went towards them where it opened up onto a huge plaza

Once viewed I suggested we see the mermaid as that is the done thing

I typed mermaid into google maps and 20 long and hot minutes later we arrived, at a different mermaid!!!

Who knew Copenhagen would have 2!!!!!

Blast

Still we decided then to do some souvenir shopping then have lunch

We still had an hour to kill so had a beer before our canal and harbour trip

The trip was excellent

You did have to be careful with some of the bridges though

On it we saw the place we had seen this morning and realised that had we turned left instead of right, we would have seen the famous mermaid!!!

I’m sure Hattie is still chuckling about that as she tends her blistered feet…..

Joss was tired after the boat so we caught the metro back to the hotel where Hattie and I broke off and had a couple of beers

The task of getting home was made a tad harder as Vodafone had crashed but we remembered the way well enough

If you could lift this pub up and put it in Brighton it would fit right in

It even had a train running round the walls!!

We left when an old lady started playing videos on her phone at a deafening level having cleared all the menus on her table onto our table saying she was playing later - we assumed cards or maybe a quiz as her table was reserved

We went via yet another pit stop at 7/11 and a look at the souvenir shop by the hotel as we headed back to prepare for the evening

We all met up at 7:30 and walked through unchartered streets to an Italian restaurant

The food was very tasty but again a tad salty (like most meals on holiday) but at least the portion sizes were good

On the way back we realised that Luke had a side-hussle

We took the metro back and Joss and I went to the pub that I’d gone to earlier whilst the others went back to the hotel

As we walked in, bugger me if it wasn’t that same old woman, lead singing in a jazz type trio - that’s what she meant by playing later!!!

Anyway, a mixture of her voice and the shrill voices of 2 Asian ladies at the end of our table meant that I was ready to go back after just the one

We’ve another busy day tomorrow so maybe an earlier night isn’t a bad idea
